MUSIC FOR YOUR MEDIAEVAL-THEMED WEDDING
For a mediaeval-style wedding or handfasting or blessing ceremony, Serpentyne will provide music that perfectly complements your event, whatever its size.
A typical wedding might go something like this:
Arrival of the guests The band play discreet welcoming music on the lawn outside your marquee or in your entrance hall. They transfer to the room in which the ceremony is to be held as the guests take their seats.
Entry of the bride As the bride comes in, the band play an appropriate piece of music, which may be a song of your choice. They are prepared to learn a song to order (a small fee may be payable) given enough notice, and if it is in keeping with their musical style.
Signing of the register The band perform a quiet, reflective piece of music.
Leaving the ceremony A rousing fanfare, followed by a joyful, uplifting theme to escort the guests out.
Drinks reception before the meal As the band continue playing, perhaps you may like some mediaeval entertainment- a jester, a Henry VIII lookalike to guide the guests, a juggler... Serpentyne can arrange all this for you.
The meal As your guests sit down to eat, the musicians can perform songs and tunes to complement the scene. Between courses you may like to have a jester, juggler, fire-eater or MC to entertain your guests and introduce the next course.
After the meal Mediaeval dancing is a great way either to round off the evening or warm your guests up before the disco. If you've ever been to a ceilidh or barn dance, you'll have some idea of what to expect; the band will demonstrate and lead you through the dances, which are quite energetic and great fun! Expect the musicians to intermingle with you as they show you how it's done, or pull individuals out to show off their dance moves!
